Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Farah, a licensed clinical social worker providing trauma-informed therapy in Texas and New York. I understand how important it is to find a therapist who you feel understood by (I’ve struggled with this myself!) so I invite you to explore if we might be a good fit…and take your time! Finding the right therapist is like finding the right pillow. Everyone has different needs and preferences, but we want a good balance of comfort & support for you.

My services

I’m located in Round Rock (near Austin), so I offer therapy sessions both in-person and virtually to adolescent (13+) and adult individuals. For those residing in New York, I provide virtual therapy. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, and perinatal mental health. I have extensive experience working with South Asian, Muslim, and BIPOC clients, as well as other healthcare professionals.

 FAQs

  • This truly depends on various factors but I typically encourage people to meet weekly at first if possible. We can then transition to biweekly as you progress. I won’t turn someone away from therapy if they’re unable to meet weekly or simply prefer a different frequency. We can figure out a rhythm that works best for you.

  • That’s a good question, and an important one! I’ve shared more about my approach here. If you’d like to learn more about me specifically, you can read about that here.

  • I am in network with Aetna for Texas clients. For those with a different insurance, I offer Superbills for those seeking reimbursement. Not all insurance plans provide coverage for out of network services so contacting your insurance directly for the most accurate info is recommended. You can read more about my session fees here.

  • I’m currently accepting new clients in Texas and New York! I offer both in-person and virtual sessions for TX clients and am fully virtual for NY clients. I have different spots open Monday-Thursday in the morning and afternoon. Reach out here to find out specific availability.

  • LCSW stands for Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This means that I’ve earned a Master’s in Social Work (MSW), obtained 3,000 supervised clinical hours, and passed the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) licensing exam. I also have to complete at least 30 hours of continuing education (CE) every 2 years so that I can keep up to date with new research and findings.

  • The Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) Program recognizes individuals who possess the competency required to help mothers, fathers, and families experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders in the perinatal period. The perinatal period is defined as the period between conception and one year post-birth.
